These rooms in my client’s beautiful 1920’s house enjoy gorgeous views to a large mature garden. We linked the spaces using Cole and Son wallpaper, but gave a different feel in each.

I created symmetry with two bespoke sideboards and large decorative wall lights to allow the two rooms to flow. The TV was re-sited above a modern wood burner inset into the mantlepiece, and an oversize square coffee table and generous sofas form a social seating space. My client loves luxurious fabrics, so we used a wide variety of textures and a palette of strong neutrals on the armchairs, wing chair and sofas.

Smaller elegant chairs in front of the step to the orangery provide a line of sight into this part of the overall space where, down a step, we upholstered window seats in a flame stitch fabric. An inherited vintage glass coffee table forms a focal point complemented by simple cream leather armchairs.
